Gears of War - How do I host Ranked matches?

I've been trying to host ranked matches in Gears of War. I get it all set up and it goes to the screen, I click ready. Then it says waiting for additional players, but nobody ever comes. I've waited for over half an hour before. And this is during peak hours. Then I hear other people talking when the ranked matches are over and they say they are setting up another, and it shows up in 2 minutes. How are they getting their matches to appear for everyone to play? And I join these ranked matches and it seems like entire teams know each other and are good at working together and blow everyone away, yet I have no idea how to play a ranked match with anyone I know. Any help with these questions would be appreciated.

this was a problem for me too heres what you do you get on the main screen and sign in to your account and then click versus and after that go to xbox live ranked match and the last option will be host a match click it. good luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i have had people just start playing gears join my room, an im ranked around 8000 in all time WARZONE.

...turn off windows firewall before u start to host.

...have a friend join because no one ever joins a 1/8
