Which is the best value host for a basic website and email services in the UK?

I'm looking to transfer my domain to a new, much more reliable host, but there are too many to choose from. I'd be grateful for any hints or tips.

http://www.godaddy.com offers very nice and powerful offers for domains, They also have the best customer support ever. really godaddy should be proud of this customer support they offer.

http://www.1and1.com offers very nice and cheap packages for web and email hosting.

1and1.com has done well for me... cheap too.
