My daughter would like to host a charity fashion show as part of her volunteer project. How do we start this?

Her project is centered around women's healthcare - more specifically, women and bleeding disorders. I'm sure I can get the models, but where do I start other than that. We would like this to be large-scale with donations going to the National Hemophlia Foundation and the Region 6 Women's Retreat. Please respond or email me with info.

I would recommend contacting your local chapter of the National Heophilia Foundation and/or the Region 6 Women's Retreat before you rush out and get a lot of other things started. They may have something very similar in the works, or they may have wanted someone to do this and may have the resources you need already lined up. There's no use reinventing the wheel. Also, if you don't contact them first, whatever you're doing may interfere with something they're already trying to do. They may know some other people who want to do this and they may be able to help you. Also, most organizations have volunteer coordinators just to help people like your daughter to make the most of whatever project they want to start.

Well start by finding someplace to hold the program, then get your models and your clothes and at the same time start advertising on the radio, televison, fliers, myspace, etc. (I hope you don't mind spending some money) Sell tickets and if you can maybe do something like they did on American Idol where people called in and donated money (but I don't know how you can go about doing that) and you might want to give people proof of the foundations so they know it is legite.

i would say find a very large church i am sure that if the church is fulkly equipped. (like mine) they would be more than willing to assist you with a cause as important as this one, you should not have to pay for things like fliers,building cost or just about anything. it all should be provided and at the church.this is something that god wants us to do. this is will be a very successful event good luck and my prayers are with you.
