Do you make money as a host in a resturant?

I'm planning on getting a new job and im still 17 years old, almost 18 tho. I was planning to get a job at a resturant maybe like T.G.I Friday as a host and then work as a waitress when I am 18. What do hosts have to do and do they make money? Thanks

stand at the front door and smile and look good.

you are the first impression and last impression of the restaurant.

you greet customers, seat them at an appropriate table, bring menus, sometimes tell them the features, answer the phone, take reservations, thank and insure customers are satisfied.

It's a good way to gain experience in the restaurant before you actually have to serve tables.in general it's pretty easy

serve customers and yes they make good money, because my sister was one and she made pretty good money.

What kind of money are you talking about??? You certainly aren't going to be traveling in a private jet. They most likely make minimum wage.

You're paid at LEAST min wage & many rests. offer tipshare. Upper scale places might pay more.

well im 17 and my last last job i was a hostess. all u do is sit people down and reserve tables for reservations. you also get tips. but it depends what kind of restaurant u work at.

the more fancier the restaurant, the more u can get paid an hour. the least u get paid is $8.00 now but some can pay u up to $11.00 after couple months working there... or even more!
