How do you host your OWN free forum?

I want to host my own forum, not create a forum on a website. Is there a program what hosts it for you? Like a teamspeak server, you host your own for free. I would like this but as a forum.

If you want to host the forum on your own computer, go to:

apachefriends.org and download and install the program, you can then install php/mysql scripts on your computer.

You can also purchase a domain name and find a free host, or paid host, and upload and install your forum software to the server.

It is really not recommended that you host anything on your own computer, as it would require you running your computer 24/7, and you would be killing your bandwidth....

I like the following script for forums:

anelectron.com

Try it out!

Free Forum Hosting *No Ads*

* No Advertising

* Spam Prevention

* Sub-Domain access (yourforum.Forumgogo.com)

* Custom Mods

* Forum Toolbars

* Unlimited Upload Space

* All languages

* 24/7 Support

While I am not aware of any software that would allow you to host a forum direct from your own PC (such might prove risky anyway - considering the number of online threats that exist) there do exist a number of free hosting options.

110mb comes to mind.

As for free forum software... phpbb comes to mind - they just came out with their first release candidate for version three - Looks nifty too.

Hope that helps ^_^
