How does a tick survive before it finds a host???

Ok so yeah, I am wondering how ticks live (without blood) before they find a critters blood to suck?? Seriously, from the time that they hatch until they find a host where do they get blood to live?

They can survive for several weeks after hatching before they need to eat and in that time they find a host or they die. Mama tick lays her eggs where finding a host isn't usually a problem.

They survive, but not for every, on the remnants of food and energy derived from the egg. A newly hatched chicken can survive for three days after hatching depending on the same souse of food.

Have you ever seen ticks laying eggs here and there,no! They only lay eggs while they are still attached to the hosts body and their offsprings are not short of hosts blood supply.

They eat they're mother when they become old enough. Before that time they're mother just feeds them blood.
