What's the best web host for a personal/business website?

Looking to create my own website and domain. What's the best web host to go with?

I recommend either Godaddy Economy or the Deluxe plan:

http://www.hosttell.com/godaddy/

(prices from $4.74/month - $6.99/month)

or Dreamhost http://www.dreamhost.com/hosting.html

Their standard price is $9.95/month ($119.40/year)

but you can use the promo code PLUS and get

$50 discount +2 Free domain names.

Disk space: Unlimited

Bandwidth: Unlimited

2 Free domain names

Unlimited domains and subdomains

Price: $5.78/month ($69.40/year)

If you purchase a domain name from GoDaddy and don't mind having ads on your site, you can host your site for free at GoDaddy as part of purchasing the domain name.

If you don't like ads, and you have little to no practical experience managing a Web server, I would recommend GoDaddy's paid hosting.

Purchase their basic Linux plan and you'll have everything you need.

If you want to start your website I recommend purchase your domain and hosting together. In this way it is possible to get your domain for free. Some hosting services offer this gift today.

If you’re looking for the best service on the web, take a look at: http://bluehost-service.atspace.com . As an experienced webmaster I’m sure it would work for you and fulfill all your requirements. They have a really great offer & I have used them for over 3 yrs now, and have never had a single problem with them. Their service is really great and easy to use.

That almost entirely depends on how many visitors you expect, in most cases shared hosting will be enough, and this goes for around (1.8$/month), examples of such would be http://www.one.com/ or http://www.godaddy.com/

The only bad about shared hosts, is that your memory limit may be low, and they might be running php in safe mode, which futher limit you, when writing scripts you must take these limits into account.

Shared hosts handle most the technical stuff, some may even offer their own CMS, which is why they are ner-perfect for smaller businesses.

Its not a qoestion about which is the best, many hosting solutions offer equal features and quality. The real question is which is best suited for your needs? I would recommend you seak out more information through http://www.webhostingtalk.com/ as this site is aimed at webhosting in particular.

You should avoid hosts that offer "unlimited" space/bandwidth as this is somewhat of a scam. You should also avoid hosts that offer ridiculous amounts of space/bandwidth, such as 10GB space for only $5/month. Hosts like this overload and oversell servers, and are bad news for anyone who wants reliability.

You should also avoid answers here that send you to review sites, as those sites make money off commissions and rank hosts based on how much money they'll get paid, not on how good they are. You should avoid answers here that look like they are affiliate links as well, for the same reason.

Hostamina.com is exactly what you need. Support is great! They will help you set up your website, and they will provide you with any help you need. Note that I am not using an affiliate link or sending you to a review site.

www.godaddy.com is not free but like 10 dollars a year. Also Goto free webs.com the will let you create one for free up to so many mb. Also with this you can create a webstore IF you like up to five items. I went to freewebs.com and did mine for free I am not all the way finished yet as I am building it all on my own but they have a site editor as well as edit wizard to help you. You can take a look at mine www.clubcre.tk

I have it through freewebs but have it hostedunder another www. so people dont see my www.freewebs.com/clubcre lmao

anyone need help sendme an email @ www.clubcre@yahoo.com or www.clubcre.tk ty

You can try a free domain name first. Be careful in spending your hard earned money. There are a lot of scams out there. Test the waters first.

Get a free domain, free web host, a complete guide to building money making websites at http://onlinecareer.co.cc.

Well, you didn't ask for a free domain, so I'd definitely recommend hostgator.com for your domain registration. If you don't have a website builder take a look at http://www.to-create-a-free-website.com there are good recommendations there.

Bluehost is far more reliable and offers free domain and ecommerce features with their webhosting

http://www.bluehost.com/track/bluehostwebhosting/

I would go with www.freewebs.com there is also geocities. I like freewebs better. They are both free to use.
