How do I repair the Extensibililty Host in Windows Media Center?

I have Windows Vista Home Premium and recently I tried to connect to my Xbox 360 to watch movies in Hi-Def. Every time I open Media Center, it tells me my extensibility host has stopped working. I've tried to uninstall and reinstall the program, but because it came installed on my laptop, it doesn't give me an option to uninstall. BTW, I'm using a Sony VAIO Laptop, model is VGN-NR123E.
