How do you put two websites using the same host?

I need to figure out how to put two different websites (if possible: w/ two different domain names) using the same web hosting plan? I know I have to buy another domain name but how can put that domain name and it's website files and stuff onto the same web host as my other domain names and files? I hope you can help, your help would be kindly appreciated.
