Where should I host my engagement party?

I'm looking for a place in Atlanta or surrounding area to host an engagement party for 20-25 ppl. It will be in March 09. My friend is catering for us and I would like a nice place to have drinks, food and music (ex. jazz, neo-soul,latin, r&b). We're also on a tight budget.

I would find a banquet hall and have it catered or a restaurant that has a menu you like and also has a party/private room and have it catered there. It will save you a lot of work with clean up and you can really enjoy yourself.

(Congratulations, btw.)

I would actually have it at your parents or in laws just like the bridal shower...or even a local establishment with a party room. Keep it simple, and inexpensive, because the wedding itself will cost you enough.

Be sure to invite the bridal party so you can ask them to be a part of your wedding...I'd do something significant for those people.

I just got married. Keep it simple and avoid a loan at all cost. Someone said Olive Garden... I agree... It's more about getting together with people and sharing than it is having a party. Save the party for the reception. And don't take a loan. Don't take a loan. Don't take a loan because no matter how good your intentions are, you'll never never never be comfortable paying it back. It ruins your life.

Have a potluck at your house or Church Hall.

go to a nearby club. Where i live there's a beat club if there's something like that near you hire it. It don't cost that much. All you really need is a large hall. And congratulations on your engagement party hope he's the right one. =)
